Events & Activities

Family Activities

We run regular family activities, crafts and storytimes during school holidays, see below for details on upcoming sessions. There is usually no need to pre-book, but do check! Even when we don’t have special sessions there’s always plenty to keep little (and not so little) ones entertained at the museum, so if you’re stuck for what to do come along and have fun in our children’s area, playing with the old fashioned games or doing a museum trail.

May Half-Term Workshops

Pond Life Crafts
Wednesday 31 May, 10am-12noon & 1.30-3.30pm
£2 per child
Join us and make some of your favourite pond life animals including funky frogs and more! You will be able to create masks, pictures, decorations as well as felt and jumping frogs.

All workshops are suitable for children 4-10 years. No need to book, just drop in. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Museum Trails

Why not try one of our ever popular free search trails around the museum, currently we have:

Dragon Hunt
Help our knight, St. Richard, track down the dragons around the museum!

Easter Egg Hunt
The Easter chick has lost ten of its eggs around the museum. Find them and claim your Easter sticker!

Men in Sheds

Men in Sheds is a new project run in conjunction with Leics & Rutland Age UK. It’s place for skill-sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. It’s a place of leisure where men can come together to work.

A Man in a WorkshopFor more information about the project telephone 0116 299 2273 or see the Age UK website.
