Occasionally not all of our exhibits are available to view. If you are making a special visit or wish to see a particular item we advise contacting the museum beforehand.

Accessibility The museum is fully wheelchair accessible, with semi-automatic front doors.

A wheelchair is available to borrow on request

A hearing loop is fitted in the Museum Entrance Gallery and in the Colonel Noel Suite. Guide dogs are welcome. For more information, please see our Access Policy Statement.

Accessible toilets, and baby changing facilities are available.

Car parking (‘Pay & Display’) is available outside the Museum. Five spaces are reserved specifically for museum visitors during Museum opening hours. Free disabled parking is available directly outside the Museum entrance.

This year we will be open our usual hours until Saturday 23rd December, then
Sunday 24th to Friday 29th – Closed
Saturday 30th – Open – 10am – 4pm
Sunday 31st to Tuesday 2nd January 2018 – Closed
Returning to our normal hours on Wednesday 3rd January 2018.
