Our normal opening times :

*Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10am – 4pm

(last entry 3.45pm) *CLOSED on Bank Holidays – Including Good Friday.

We accept both card and cash payments at our shop and entrance donation box. Donations go direct to the Friends of Rutland County Museum & Oakham Castle. The Friends are very grateful for your support which in turn helps to support the Museum and Castle.

Lift and Balcony Displays

Our lift which gives access to the balcony exhibition area may be used by those with mobility issues. Please see the member of our team who can assist you.

Accessibility

The museum is fully wheelchair accessible, with semi-automatic front doors.

A wheelchair is available to borrow on request.

A hearing loop is fitted in the Museum Entrance Gallery and in the Colonel Noel Meeting Room.

Assistance Dogs are welcome.

Parking

Car parking (Pay & Display – Card or Phone payment only) is available outside the Museum in South Street Car Park. Five spaces are reserved specifically for museum visitors during Museum opening hours.

Free parking for Blue Badge holders is available directly outside the Museum entrance for three hours. See the Rutland County Council website for more information about parking in Oakham.
